Stacie Halas, a middle school science teacher who previously worked in the adult film industry under the name "Tiffany Six," lost her appeal to return to the classroom, her lawyer told CBS News.

Halas, 32, was fired from Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard, Calif., in May after students discovered she had appeared in several pornography films, downloaded them to their smartphones and showed school administrators. Halas fought to get her job back after the termination, but a three-judge panel unanimously agreed on Jan. 15 that her past in porn meant she was unfit for the classroom and would always be a distraction.

Judge Julie Cabos-Owen explained the decision in a 46-page ruling for the Commission on Professional Competence, according to Mail Online.

"Although (Halas') pornography career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her pornographic materials on the Internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague," Cabos-Owen wrote.

Cabos-Owen also wrote ithat Halas had been dishonest about her short career in porn when she withheld the information from school administrators.

District superintendent Jeff Chancer aid in a statement that Halas' decision to "engage in pornography was incompatible with her responsibilities as a role model for students" and would "present an insurmountable, recurring disruption to our schools should she be allowed to remain as a teacher."

Halas admitted that she appeared in a few films during an eight-month period from 2005 to 2006 due to financial difficulties. She taught at the California school between 2005 and 2007. Her attorney, Richard Schwab, said his client was too embarrassed to reveal her past to her employers at the time.

"Miss Halas is more than just an individual fighting for her job as a teacher," Schwab told CBS News. "I think she's representative of a lot of people who may have a past that may not involve anything illegal or anything that hurts anybody."

A former assistant principal testified that in one of the videos, Halas is seen revealing that she is a teacher.

Radar Online obtained and viewed a behind-the-scenes video clip of an adult film Halas appeared in, in which the former teacher said on-camera that a career in porn was "very risky for me, because I am a teacher" and added, "at least I didn't do the students."

Halas was fired after a school board meeting determined she was unfit to teach in a classroom. A teacher testified in court that when word spread about her cheeky past, someone wrote profanity-laced terms on her classroom window before she was asked to leave the school.

Administrators and students who saw her films described them as "hardcore pornography."
