During filming on Vanderpump Rules season four, Schwartz got down on one knee at SUR Lounge, and while the event was said to be surprising for Maloney, it will also be surprising for fans once it airs -- because Schwartz isn't allowed to share any details until it does.

"I don't think I'm allowed to say that," Schwartz told E! News after being asked about how he proposed. "I would love to tell you the story, because I think I finally in my life got something right. I think I nailed it. And I'm very self-deprecating, I don't like to give myself credit. I think I nailed this one."

Jax Taylor added that his friend's proposal was "amazing."

"The key element was surprise," Schwartz explained.

As for their future wedding, Schwartz said he and Maloney are "slowly" beginning to plan for their big day. However, they aren't in a huge rush to make it happen.

"We're still basking in the glory of being engaged," he explained. "Especially someone like me who really did have a fear of commitment. I don't know where it came from, or where it stemmed from."

Schwartz went on to reveal it's taken him some time to acknowlege Maloney's new title.

"I keep referring to her as my girlfriend, and she'll chime in and be like, ‘Um, fiancée,'" he said.
