It's bad news for everyone who was voting for Prop 1 in Houston.

What Are Matt Bomer & Simon Halls' Favorite Scents?

The voters gave their pick and it turns out the equal rights ordinance did not go through, according to KHOU. Also known as HERO, the prop failed at 62 to 38 percent. This was apparently thought from the public to be "the bathroom ordinance," giving the impression that sexual predators could enter any public restroom they want.

One person who expressed his disappointment in this was movie and TV star Matt Bomer. He took to Twitter on Wednesday to show that despite this loss, there is still hope for the future.

He also made an appearance in the video below to show that everyone deserves to be treated with the same values and respect, and this is something he shows to his own kids.

"I'm an actor, a parent, a husband and a Houstonian. I was raised with the belief that everyone deserves to be treated equally. These are the same values that I grew up with in Houston and the same values that I try to teach my kids. Please join me in supporting the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance. Vote Yes on Proposition 1."

Bomer is married to publicist Simon Halls. They have three children together, Kit, Walker and Henry.
