"It is with a heavy heart that I share this devastating news. My beloved and cherished son, Nathaniel Marston, who was putting up the good fight until last night was not able to continue due to the traumatic and devastating nature of his injuries," Elizabeth Jackson shared in her post. Nathaniel passed away peacefully as I held him in my arms...His injuries, which Dr.'s did their best to heal were not responding to treatment and one after another his bodily functions failed to support his life."

"...Know that I am deeply grateful for all of you for taking this tragic two week journey with me Nathaniel and our family. You unfailing support, prayers, love and positive thoughts that you have sent our way, in what has been the worst two weeks of my life, have held all of us up giving us the strength to get through each hellish day," she added.

Marston's injuries from the accident included a broken back and neck as well as other serious injuries. He later also dealt with pneumonia, a heart infection and an irregular pulse.

His mother also noted in her Facebook post that had he survived, he would have had to live the rest of his days on a ventilator and been sentenced to life as a quadriplegic, something she said he would have never been able to tolerate.

The family is planning three separate memorial services for him in New York, Hawaii and Nevada, where he died.
