Following a sixth season of Teen Mom 2, which saw the mother of three being plagued with accusations of having an addiction to her prescription pain medication, Messer shared a tweet, which garnered her even more backlash.

Although the tweet was part of a poll, which asked fans if her maiden name was "Leah Dawn Messel" or "Leah Dawn Messer," she seemed to be unaware that her Twitter name was listed as "Leah D. Messer," thus giving away the answer as soon as she asked the question.
In response to Messer's tweet, fans weighed in with a number of tweets.
