LL Cool J is the latest celeb to get the interview treatment on Oprah Winfrey’s “Next Chapter” series. The "NCIS" actor will be joined by his wife of 17 years, Simone and four children Najee, Italia, Samara, and Nina. The 45-year-old hip hop legend will reveal personal details of abuse he suffered growing up, his career and marriage. He’ll also talk about what happened during that scary moment when he faced an intruder at his Los Angeles home.

In August 2012, the actor apprehended an intruder after he heard commotion in the lower level of his Studio City, California home. The robber's attempts were foiled when he tripped the alarm system after he entered the Los Angeles area home, according to TMZ. When the 44-year-old actor and Queens native discovered him, he held the intruder and roughed him up until police arrived. Local authorities received a 9-1-1 call after midnight from a female who said her father was holding a robber downstairs, according to The Associated Press. When officers arrived, they arrested the would-be-robber for suspicion of burglary. Police revealed that the suspect had minor bruises. Authorities also shared that the rapper-turned-actor was not hurt and nothing was stolen.

The suspected burglar, 56-year-old Jonathan A. Kirby pled not guilty to the charge. The criminal complaint against Kirby alleges at least two prior convictions in California, meaning that if he is found guilty of this break-in, it would be a "third strike" under California law and he would face 38 years to life in prison.

Oprah’s “Next Chapter” series has been successful in bringing in big name interviews including Lance Armstrong, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Rihanna and Justin Bieber. The episode will air Sun, January 27 at 9 pm EST.
