Shadowhunters won't wait long before treating viewers to the series' first major kiss.

Fans of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument universe know New York City's supernatural underground is rift with budding romances, and episode 7 will give Shadowhunters a climactic break from the ever-rising sexual tension.

"Episode 7 is currently my favorite. Lots of surprises, including a big kiss," composer Ben Decter informed fans on Tuesday. The musician latter crushed the hopes of Alec (Matthew Daddario) and Magnus (Harry Shum, Jr.) fans when he announced that there will be no Malec lip locking during the untitled ep.

Never fear, there are still plenty of romances to choose from. Clary (Katherine McNamara), Jace (Dominic Sherwood), Simon (Alberto Rosende), or Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) could all be contenders, but book readers know which pairing is most likely to crop up around the season's halfway mark.

The smooch will come in the wake of episode 5's explosion of love triangles.

"Putting the finishing touches on the score for episode 5!" Decter also teased on Tuesday. "Each episode, the love triangles multiply..."

Based on the events of City of Bones, Shadowhunters will see Clary Fray's world turn upside down when her mother is abducted. Thrown into the world of the supernatural, Clary will quickly learn that she is a nephilim, a half-human/half-angel being tasked with riding the earth of demons. As the teenaged heroine enters the world her mother tried so desperatly to keep her from, she will quickly discover that not all is as it seems.
