Day 13 of Jodi Arias' first-degree murder trial resumes today on Monday, Feb. 4. This is the second week Arias' defense team will present their case to support the argument that Arias killed her ex-lover, Travis Alexander, in an act of self-defense.

Arias stands accused of murdering her Alexander, whose body was discovered in his Mesa, Arizona home on June 4, 2008. When police found the victim, they discovered he had been shot in the face, stabbed 27 times and his throat slit from ear to ear.

The defense presented their side of the case for the first time last week when the trial resumed on Jan. 29 after a 10-day break.

Arias' legal team called in several defense witnesses who were familiar with both the suspect and the victim to support their case that Alexander was a liar, cheater and sexual deviant who was not as religious and innocent as prosecutors portrayed him to be earlier in the trial. Alexander, 30, was a motivational speaker and devout Mormon.

On day 11 of the first-degree murder trial, an ex-girlfriend of Alexander's was brought into testify that he lied and cheated on her with Arias in a secret sex affair.

On day 12 Daniel Freeman, a close friend of Alexander's, testified on Thursday that he was shocked to learn of his friend's secret relationship with Arias. It was also uncovered that Alexander sent lewd photos of himself to Arias online, all of which is against Mormon laws and values.

Veteran HLN host Nancy Grace, however, thinks that the defense's case is weak, that the jury will not buy any of the testimonies and that they will find Arias guilty.

"There is no way around a murder conviction for Jodi," Grace told Radar Online.

Grace, a former prosecutor, based her predictions on her legal knowledge. She is confident that Arias will be convicted but said there is a possibility that she may escape the death penalty.

"In my opinion the facts have proven that this is Murder 1. BUT, if they feel pity for her they may give her Murder 2. I think that they will give her murder one though, but with no death penalty."

Grace referenced a defense witness' testimony given last week on day 10 of the trial. Arias' ex-boyfriend, Darryl Brewer, 52, revealed that Arias took photos of him in the nude when he showered or as he slept without his consent. Prosecutors had presented images taken by Arias and her digital camera in the first 9 days of the trial to prove that she also took X-rated photos of Alexander prior to Brewer's testimony.

"Her ex-boyfriend testified that she took naked pictures of him in the shower, just like she did with Travis, and he said that she was aggressive during sex," Grace noted.

She also pointed out the last time Brewer saw Arias, a day or two before Alexander was found murdered, when she borrowed two gas cans from Brewer. Grace said that this proves she was planning to burn the evidence or a body.

"This to me shows premeditation, and I think the jury will see it that way too."

Grace said she also she thinks the defense witnesses' testimonies are "backfiring" against Arias.

"The witnesses that they have put on the stand have all ended up actually making Jodi look bad," Grace explained. "It is totally backfiring for them. One witness even admitted under cross examination that she thought Jodi was a stalker. She is smart, but her M.O. is the same, it just escalated this time and she killed Travis Alexander.

I predict that the jury is going to find her guilty!" Grace added.

If Arias is, indeed, convicted of murder she will likely face the death penalty. If so, she will be the fourth woman in Arizona's history to die by lethal injection.
