Casey Anthony, who has received backlash by the public after she was acquitted of murder for the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter, is reportedly considering a career in the adult film industry.

According to a source, Anthony is considering working in porn because she is financially strapped. If so, Anthony will be following in the footsteps of other women who made controversial headlines and later worked in the porn industry to support themselves - namely "Octomom" and Amy Fisher.

Anthony made global headlines after her own mother made a 911 call to police to report her granddaughter missing in 2008. Cindy Anthony said in the emergency call that she had not seen Casey's daughter, Caylee Anthony, 2, in 31 days. Cindy became suspicious after Casey gave several different accounts over how Caylee went missing and when Casey's car contained a foul odor as if she had a dead body in it.

Casey went into hiding after she was acquitted in July, 2011 due to the backlash she received from the public. The sensationalism of the trial left her unable to get a 9-to-5 job, nor land a book or movie deal.

Now, Casey has resorted to considering broadcasting live streams of sex shows from her own home to earn an income, according to a source.

"Casey is flat broke with no way of repaying her debts," an insider reportedly told The National Enquire. "She'll never get a regular 9 to 5 job, and no legitimate book publisher or TV network will give her a deal for her story."

"Casey has already received offers from executives at various companies at stream porno and anonymously contacted women who have made this their career. Many of them are students and bored housewives, and they encouraged her to go for it," the insider said.

The insider said the only way she can make a lucrative salary in porn is if she went public and advertised it with her real name.

"She may be one of the world's most hated women, but there's a twisted fascination with her, and she has to cash in on that notoriety," the insider suggested. "You can bet she'll quickly move into the hardcore XXX-rated material because that's where the real money is."

Anthony was offered an adult film deal 24 hours after she was acquitted in July, 2011 by Vivid Entertainment, the industry's leading movie company. Later, the company recinded their offer after they received criticism for making an offer to someone so disliked by the general public.

A rep for Vivid Entertainment said their fans wanted "nothing to do" with Anthony.

"It has become obvious to us that Vivid fans, and people in general, want nothing to do with her and that includes a XXX movie," Hirsch told TMZ at the time.

"We were ready to make an offer to Casey to star in one of our feature films.  It's clear to me now, however, that there has been an overwhelmingly negative response to our offer and so we've decided to withdraw it. We now believe that we underestimated the emotional response that people are having to the verdict. A movie starring Casey Anthony is not what people want to see," he added.
