Rihanna stood by her man Chris Brown on Wednesday - the Bajan beauty went with him to his court appearance to address the issues surrounding his completion of community service.

Rihanna's show of support by attending the hearing was unexpected because Brown was sentenced with 200 hours of community service as part of his probation after he was convicted for assaulting her on the eve of the Grammys in 2009.

Rihanna sat in the gallery with Brown's mother as he and his attorney, Marl Geragos faced the judge for the hearing. He was summoned to court on Feb. 5 to address whether Brown lied about completing his community service.  At one point, Rihanna was seen blowing him a kiss in the courtroom.

The judge said he needed more time to review Geragos' argument that the Los Angeles District Attorney's office did not have their facts straight, according to TMZ. He ordered Brown to meet with his probation officer within two days of Wednesday's hearing. The judge said he wants to hear the probation officer's side of the story after their meeting and scheduled Brown's next court date for April 5.

Rihanna and Chris Brown left the courtroom arm-in-arm. He was seen laughing and smiling as Rihanna joked to make him smile. Later, she sent a series of tweets to show her support to him.

"@TheGodLight: When it seems like the world is against you, remember that God is behind your every positive loving thought.'#nevaforget" she wrote on Twitter.

A source close to Brown explained why Rihanna decided to show up for the hearing, despite the criticism she has received for their reconciliation.

"Poor baby, with all the sh** he been going through, she felt she needed to be there for him," the source told Hollywood Life. "Rihanna doesn't want to see anybody she cares about being hurt on any level, especially Chris. She loves [him] so much and told him to roll to the studio to get his mind off s**t instead of just going to the house to smoke and sleep. She thought that would help his a** a lot, to get his mind off s**t."
