Meanwhile, The Hennepin County Medical Examiner in Minneapolis reported Thursday that Weiland, 48, was overdosed on cocaine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA; also known as “sally” or “the love drug,” and chemically related to the drug ecstasy) and ethanol. The report also indicates heart disease and asthma were “significant” conditions. The test results also revealed Scott’s “multi-substance dependence” was a factor.

According to Us Weekly, Weiland, who was the frontman for bands like Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, died suddenly on December 3, leading fans to speculate about what exactly led to his death.

Meanwhile, reports aroused as a day later Black was arrested after detectives found a small quantity of cocaine in the tour bus that Weiland and Black shared, and where Weiland’s body was found.

The former frontman of Stone Temple Pilots had long struggled with drug abuse, and in a letter published by Rolling Stone shortly after his death, his ex-wife Mary Forsberg-Weiland, noted that Weiland's substance abuse had deeply affected their two children — Noah, 15, and Lucy, 13 — over the years, Us Weekly wrote.

“The truth is, like so many other kids, they lost their father years ago,” she wrote. “What they truly lost on December 3rd was hope.”
