A new character is about to join Bates Motel.

Filming Begins For 'Bates Motel' Season 4

On Friday, Deadline announced that a woman named Rebecca Hamilton will come aboard the series as an ex-girlfriend of Alex Romero. Not a lot was said about her character except that she's still very much in love with Alex and she will be a major recurring role.

Rebecca will be played by Jamie Ray Newman whose previous credits include Catch Me If You Can, Tarzan and Game of Assassins. She also played Allison in Wicked City, Sam in Mind Games and Vanessa in Drop Dead Diva.

When the series returns, odds are likely things will get more twisted especially for Norma. In a post from ComicBook.com, Nestor Carbonell (Alex) opened up on how things will change for Norma in her instability.

"There's a lot of payoff," Carbonell said. "There's been a lot of set up until now, so there will be payoff. We saw Norma's descent already clearly happening especially through the second half of last season so we'll see more of that to come, no doubt about it. For my part, whether anything is gonna happen with Norma, she's a frustrating woman, that's all I've got to say. She's a tough one. She's a tough nut to crack so we'll see what happens there."

Bates Motel Season 4 is expected to air sometime in the spring of 2016 on A&E.
