Plenty of certified geniuses have credited LSD with sparking valuable and life-changing perceptivity.

So it stands to reason that dropping acid while attending a rally for Donald Trump, arguably one of the most polarizing presidential candidates in American history would drum up some insight on the top political subject of 2015 and his supporters. Right?

Well, someone out there knows for sure. Or is claiming to anyway.

In a recent post to Reddit's Psychonaut (a sub-group dedicated to the exploration of altered states of consciousness) and TIFU subreddits (a forum where users detail how "Today I F**ked Up"), a redditor named flipper8088 claims they recently attended a speech by the real estate mogul/reality TV star while on acid, detailing it all in a post called "Went to a Donald Trump speech on acid SUPER BAD VIBES."

Theoretically, it's actually not a COMPLETELY terrible idea-the acid, that is. Trump's candidacy has been filled with stump speeches that some may suggest require chemical dependency to appreciate (or understand). Seeing the King of Comb-overs in person while tripping might be akin to taking in an absurdist comedy act (while also high, of course).

Alas, good times were not to be had. The writer describes how a simple sober field trip to see conservative America's raging id "just for fun" devolved into a Hunter S. Thompson anecdote when they decide on the car ride over that "it would be hilarious to be tripping at a Donald Trump speech" and each dropped two hits of acid.

Now, it's not like Flipper8088 and their buds were seeking higher-level understanding of the Trump campaign--this trip was motivated by bragging rights. But their telling observations on Trump's candidacy and his supports are pretty damn insightful.

"The tension in the air was flowing through our bodies, everyone looked angry about something," Flipper8088 writes. When Trump himself comes out on stage the building is "shaking with chants of USA! USA! USA! It was proud patriotism with an undertone of depraved violence, you could feel it."

In the much longer post on R/TIFU, the writer goes on to note yelling protestors in the crowed, who were dragged of by security. "This is when I realized the opposition is just as idiotic as the supporters," the anonymous tripper writes. "As a country we are digging our own graves."

"The speech felt like it kept looping over and over and over and over and over," Flipper8088 writes. "Muslims this, guns this, illegals that, something about Hilary Clinton being disgusting by using the restroom." (That last part matches up with a recent write-up by The New York Times of a speech Trump gave before supporters in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Tuesday.)

Flipper8088 describes Trumps speech as an "endless time loop" of "every 5 minutes...a bold statement, the crowd erupts into mindless cheers and applause." Flipper8088 is struck by a narcotic-fueled epiphany in the end: "This when I actually convinced myself that I was living out the novel 1984...TRUMP IS BIG BROTHER"
