IDigitalTimes speculates that Annalise (Viola Davis) might be responsible for Wes's (Alfred Enoch) mother's death, which might put a lot of what has happened thus far in persepctive.

Wes Is Going To Have To Question His Entire Life

The report quite credibly argues that that might be Annalise's relationship to Wes and also somewhere explains why he might have shot her in the midseason finale. References are also made to the flashback scenes where Annalise is questioned about his mother's death.

In a recent interview with Variety Enoch talked about the contentious Annalise shooting in the mid-season finale and how that would affect her relationship with his character Wes.

Will Nate Rat Annalise Out?

After Wes shot Annalise, things are bound to tense up between the two of them in the upcoming episodes, set to return in January. Enoch revealed that things will get pretty complicated in that regard.

"There's an intimacy between them, which complicates the issue with him shooting her and trying to kill her, which obviously is why the betrayal feels so stark and so painful," he said. "It's a very complicated relationship because to some degree, he knows he can't trust her, but I don't think he would have ever suspected that--even though he's been suspecting her throughout all the season."

The finale episode, titled "What Did We Do?," aired on ABC on Nov. 19.

Season 2 of How to Get Away With Murder will return on Feb. 11, 2016.
