Supporting existing leaks and rumors surrounding the unannounced Lumia 650 Windows Mobile 10 Phone, a Microsoft executive may have accidentally spilled some tea. As NokiaPowerUser reports, the tip came from Chris Capossela, Chief Marketing Officer at Microsoft. Purportedly, during a recent Q & A session with the Windows Weekly podcast, the CMO inadvertently provided confirmation of the Lumia 650's existence.

According to the report, the slip-up acknowledging the rumored Windows phone (code-name Saana), happened when Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet posed a question to Capossela about the Lumia 650's release date. His response to her inquiry was that "they had not announced a release date yet". Whether she caught him off-guard or he purposely gave her a not-so-subtle insider's a scoop, the important takeaway is that the phone actually exists!

Up until now, the premium budget Windows phone was just a rumor. Renders of the Lumia 650 in color variants of black and white have surfaced in the wild and bits and pieces of the device's hardware specs are also churning in the rumor mill. What we think we know so far is that the upcoming Windows 10 Mobile phone is that it features a 5-inch 720p touchscreen display, a 1.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor alongside 1GB of RAM keeps it running. Internal storage is expected to be 8GB in capacity, expandable via a microSD slot, likely up to 32GB--64GB is hopeful.

Boasting an 8MP primary camera with LED flash on the rear, the Lumia 650 also features a 5MP front-facing camera for snapping selfies and engaging in video calls. Said to be powered by a 2000mAh battery, the Lumia 650 offers slightly less power than its predecessor, the Lumia 640 which houses a 2500mAh juice pack. While price or release date specifics remain a mystery, the entry level Windows 10 phone is expected to arrive during Q1 of 2016. Reports lean towards a January or February reveal with U.S. carrier Cricket Wireless possibly getting the Lumia 650 sometime in April.
