Help ABC ring in the new year by watching the iconic Charlie Brown New Year's special, Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown! first aired in 1986. The special features Peppermint Patty and Marcie throwing a huge New Year's Eve party. Meanwhile, our old pal Charlie Brown is ready to settle in with Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, on which he is assigned to write a book report. Charlie Brown asks the love of his life, the little red-haired girl, to the party but she does not respond.

Charlie Brown decides to go to Peppermint Patty's party anyway. "Then he settles down with the book on a porch swing in a snowstorm, and in so doing, misses the evening's big surprise," as the ABC press release describes.

ABC is airing the New Year's special tonight starting at 8/7c and will last for one hour.

If you can't watch the ABC telecast on a TV, the network is offering a live stream on the ABC website. It remains to be seen if the special will go up online after tonight's telecast.
