Valencia vs Paris St Germain takes place in the Champions League on Tuesday night as the knock out stages of the competition kick off. The game should be a thrilling encounter between two of the best sides in Spain and France, with Valencia likely hoping to gain a lead from their home advantage in this first leg. The game will kick off at 7.45 p.m. UK time and can be watched online through live stream via the link provided at the foot of this article.

David Beckham was one of the most publicized signings in Europe during the January transfer window, with Paris St Germain claiming the highly coveted signature of the former England captain.

However, even though many had hoped to see Beckham finally back in Champions League action tonight, he is still transitioning into his new role in Paris, and although he will travel with the squad to Spain the former Manchester United and Real Madrid man will not play tonight.

In team news, thigh injuries have ruled Paris SG centre-back Thiago Silva and midfielder Thiago Motta out of this game. Motta did return to training last weekend but is not on the squad list, while Silva is expected to recover in time for the second leg.

For Valencia, there are no new injuries, and some of their key players including Joao Pereira, Victor Ruiz and Diego Alves, should be well rested after being given the day off from their match on Saturday.

According to reports, Beckham is not featuring because he has still not trained with the squad following signing on with the Paris outfit. He is expected to join them soon as he settles into the side for his five month deal, which was made on transfer deadline day in January.

Meanwhile, Paris St-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti has said ahead of the tie: "Valencia is a very good team, very compact. They like to play the Spanish way, with a lot of overlaps and short passes, and with Soldado who is very dangerous with his runs from deep," according to BBC Sport.

Valencia head coach Ernesto Valverde has also said: "We are going through a good spell, our morale is good. These type of games are opportunities for us. In front of us we have a great team with great players."
