The 2015 Kennedy Center Honors aired last night on CBS, which included many soul-stirring performances and speeches to honor Carole King, George Lucas, Cicely Tyson, Rita Moreno, Seiji Ozawa and the Eagles.

The Kennedy Center Honors this year was a success, due to the many touching tributes to some of the entertainment world's biggest legends. While many of the performances and special tributes were wonderful, here are the top highlights from the two-hour event.

CeCe Winans tributes Cicely Tyson
 

CeCe Winans took us to church with a soulful rendition of the Christian hymn "Blessed Assurance", paying special tribute to Tyson. Winans was joined by Terence Blanchard and the Cicely Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts Choir. Tyson gave the performance a tearful standing ovation.

Gina Rodriguez tributes Rita Moreno
 

   

Gina Rodriguez paid tribute to Moreno, her Jane the Virgin co-star, with a very emotional speech. "You gave me hope, you gave me a reason to fight and to speak up you gave me a voice and how can I thank you? I'm not sure how but I can tell you this: when you followed your dreams Rita, you gave me the allowance to follow mine," Rodriguez told the legendary actress.

Star Wars tributes George Lucas
 

   

With the recent release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Lucas was fittingly honored with special messages from C-3PO, R2-D2 and a hologram of Carrie Fisher. The Kennedy Center Orchestra played a mashup of themes from Star Wars and Indiana Jones as Stormtroopers took the stage.

Miranda Lambert tributes the Eagles
 

Miranda Lambert performed an emotional tribute to the Eagles. The country star sang the band's classic song "Desperado". Unfortunately, the group was not able to attend due to one of the members being sick.

Aretha Franklin tributes Carole King
 

Aretha Franklin totally stole the show at the end of the Kennedy Center Honors presentation by honoring King. The Queen of Soul left it all on the stage as she performed "(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman", which King famously wrote.
