The new season of Degrassi is about to take on the reality of what goes on with technology.

On Wednesday, Windsor Star shared details from actor Dante Scott who will be joining the new season as Vijay, someone who sounds like a likable kid.

"He's new to the Degrassi school," the actor said about his character. "He's a fun person, very dramatic. He likes to interact with people, and he's always there if you need him. He has a great sense of style, he's really funny. He's a great person to be around."

It sounds like Vijay might be the right person to go to when things get rough. And unfortunately, that's what will end up happening based on what Scott teased. The series has taken on a number of serious issues like mental illness, premarital sex, abuse, death and more, but this time, something else will be added to the mix.

"We're getting technology involved in it now," the actor said. "The dangers of cellphones and stuff like that."

Whatever happens, Scott sounds stoked to be a part of this. He mentioned that performing is one of his greatest dreams.

"I love singing. I love music," he said. "I started doing plays and musicals- and to be a part of a musical, you also have to have a bit of acting...which led me to acting. I realized I loved acting so, so much."

Degrassi: Next Class premieres on Friday, January 15 on Netflix.
