Kim Richards' cancer-stricken ex-husband, Monty Brinson, took a turn for the worse last month, and according to a new report, her sobriety could be impacted.

As Brinson continues to fight for his life, a source close to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star claims his passing may lead to a possible relapse for the troubled reality star.

“Kim has been by Monty’s side since he was diagnosed and when he passes she is going to be devastated,” a source close to Richards told Radar Online on Tuesday. “Everyone is worried that his death will compromise her sobriety, since she is just so newly sober.”

As Brinson remains in the hospital after seeking medical attention weeks ago, his other ex-wife, Terri Doss, offered an update.

“He is not even able to walk on his own,” she told Radar, revealing Brinson is paralyzed and “not of sound mind.”

Doss also shared a message on his Instagram, which read, “Monty wants everyone to know that he had a stroke a month ago and it has effected (sic) his decision making / mind.. He did not mean to post what he had and apologizes to all of you .. His mind is not clear.”

The family is “praying for his health and praying that Kim makes it through the heartbreaking situation,” the source added.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season six airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
