Crystal Reed will return to Teen Wolf this winter...but Allison will not.

Allison is dead and buried, and while Beacon Hills cemetery has seen a fair few resurrections, the young Argent is not among them. Instead, Reed will return as Alison's ancestor Marie-Jeanne Valet.

The new character will pop up during "The Maid of Gévaudan" on Feb. 23. Comprised largely of flashbacks, the episode will travel to 1765 France as Reed's titular character faces off with the Beast of Gévaudan.

"She was a peasant girl who had fashioned a bayonet onto a spear and was supposedly one of the first to survive an attack by the beast," Jeff Davis informed Buzzfeed. "Valet is another female warrior, and I think one of the great things Crystal does is she gives our viewers, especially our young female viewers, someone to look up to...we also get to see [Reed] wielding a crossbow again!"

The flashbacks will come as Gerard recounts Valet's adventures to Scott and Co. Considering Grandpa Argent isn't exactly known for his truthful storytelling, this set up has us a little nervous. With the fate of the Beast hinging on his clues, however, perhaps the ailing hunter will keep his lies to himself.

I guess we now know why "Allison's" skeleton was wearing a period outfit in Teen Wolf's deadly fresco.
