The Backstreet Boys singer, Nick Carter was arrested last Wednesday after an altercation happened inside a bar at Hog's Breath Saloon in Key West, Fla.
The recent Dancing With the Stars contestant was taken into custody due to what had occurred inside Hog’s Breath Saloon which caused Carter’s arrest. Details reveal that a scuffle involving the celeb went down at the bar. That's when police showed up to investigate what was going on, and concluded with Carter's arrest, TMZ reports.
Entertainment Tonight confirms with authorities that an incident did occur at the bar, but cannot confirm that Carter was involved or detained. However, Carter's full name -- Nickolas Gene Carter -- does appear in the jail's inmate log in Key West.
Apparently, this isn’t the first time that the 35-year-old singer got into trouble with the authorities. Last November, he caught up with ET in an interview where he reveals his past troubles during his teenage days and how he managed to be sober again after quitting drugs and alcohol.
"I began drinking heavily in my teens and then moved on to drugs at 18 or 19, starting with marijuana and moving up to cocaine, Ecstasy, and prescription painkillers among other substances," he recalls.
"You get a lot of attention," Carter continued. "There's a lot of yes people out there. Those are the perks, but they're negative perks. They just don't have the purest of intentions. At that time you have money and you have the fame ... But I think what's interesting now is the progression -- how I started and where I've come to now."
Nick noted his physical appearance is the wake-up call he needed to get sober and healthy.
"I was gaining weight at the time, the color in my face was gone," Nick said. "I was able to look in the mirror at one point and said to myself, 'I don't want to be that person that you turn on the television and they're saying, We feel really bad because he died."
Now, Carter is sober and married to actress Lauren Kitt, both expecting their first child.
