Spring must be one of the most beautiful seasons that possibly one could enjoy the most. Days become longer and the weather gets warmer but most of all, we get to see flowers and trees come to life again.

For country singer Joey Feek, spring time has always become one of her gracious time of the year. It is where she gets to enjoy one of her hobbies, planting.

Rory Feek, Joey’s husband posted a new blog just this Thursday revealing that despite of what his terminally ill wife is going through, the 40-year-old singer still hopes for what Spring time has to offer.

"Some seeds she will plant directly in the garden in late March or April, but some she likes to start early, inside the house," writes Rory. "In years past, it's not unusual for me to walk in the house and find our kitchen table completely filled with seed packets, potting soil and egg cartons… and Joey grinning ear-to-ear, truly in her element."

According to Entertainment Tonight, the 49-year-old country crooner then connected the parallels between tending to plants and the family's own heartbreaking year.

"As fun as it is to see the seeds coming to life, this isn't just fun for Joey," he adds. "She does it because it's important to her. Planting a garden and raising food that she can feed her family is part of who Joey is. That doesn't stop just because you have cancer or are stuck in a bed for months-on-end. Life goes on."

"So thin and gaunt, and more frail than ever, my wife is sowing her seeds – putting down roots in the soil of our lives and hearts," the post concludes. "Getting us ready for something that we can't see right now for the tears in our eyes… something she might not even get to see at all. Spring."

Joey was diagnosed with cancer in May 2014, and chose to end treatments last October. After she entered hospice care, Rory began posting updates on her life and health to his blog.
