Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold will reprise their roles of detectives Axel Foley and William "Billy" Rosewood respectively in CBS' Beverly Hills Cop pilot, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Wrap.

Reinhold signed on for a cameo in the pilot that Murphy is both serving as a producer of and starring in. Kevin Pollak also stars in the pilot.

The Beverly Hills Cop pilot, created by The Shield's Shawn Ryan, is a continuation of the movie franchise and focuses on Foley's police officer son Aaron Foley (Brandon T. Jackson) who fights crime in Beverly Hills, according to Yahoo. Sony Television is producing the pilot.

CBS did not respond to TheWrap's request for a comment, according to the news report.

Murphy will also help revive another 1980s comedy: he signed on to star alongside Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger in a sequel of the 1988 comedy Twins, according to The Inquisitr.

"Arnold and I recently had dinner with Eddie Murphy and we all got along great so I think it will definitely happen with the three of us," Devito said. "Universal have taken the reins so it's their movie. Whether it's called Twins 2 or Triplets hasn't been decided yet but I'd be up for doing it in a heartbeat. But I'm just so busy right now, I can't say when."
