We're finally going to learn the extent of what went on during Castle's (Nathan Fillion) missing time on ABC's Castle.

Episode 14 of this current eighth season will feature an exploration into what happened to Castle during that period he went missing after the season 6 finale. While the series did touch on this story arc in the first half of season 7, we have yet to learn the whole story... until now.

"We are going to conclude that missing time," Castle co-showrunner Terrence Paul Winter told Entertainment Weekly in a new report. "We're going to find out exactly what happened. We know what happened those first two weeks, the other six weeks are still a mystery. We're going to find out what happens in episode 14."

Would 'Castle' Really Continue Without Its Main Characters?

This is the episode in which Castle goes to Los Angeles with Alexis (Molly Quinn) and Hayley (Toks Olagundoye).

"Castle gets involved with this legendary greatest detective society, which Gerald McRaney character runs," co-showrunner Alexi Hawley explained. "Ultimately, he gets pitted against Summer Glau's character to compete to solve a case."

This should be a fun reunion for Fillion and Glau, who previously starred together in the cult Fox series Firefly. Another Firefly star, Adam Baldwin, appeared earlier this season on Castle as well.

Episode 14 is expected to air in early March.

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
