Actor Kelsey Grammer told reporters outside of a Beverly Hills eatery on Tuesday that he faced a six-figure loss after choosing to invest in windmills.

TMZ asked the former Frasier star what is the most expensive mistake he has ever made and he said, ''Investing in windmills."

The reporter replied, "You'd think it would be lucrative," and Grammer said, "It's not really a friendly environment for new technology, it really isn't."

''Big wind is doing OK but it was a small wind investment isn't and it cost me a lot of money - it's got six figures at least," Grammer added. "I'm OK but I didn't make up for it. It's just one of those things that's just a straight loss."

Grammer lost money in another area of business as well, after he recently cut the asking price for his Beverly Hills home. He originally put the property on the market for $18.9 million in 2008 but reduced the price after it failed to sell, according to Contactmusic. He already lowered the asking price several times.

The home was where he previously lived with his now ex-wife Camille Grammer. The couple bought the home in 2007 for $13.7 million and Kelsey now listed it for $14.995 million.

The 57-year-old Boss star has Mason, 11, and Jude, 8, with Camille. They settled their divorce in December of 2012 after a 2-year battle over custody and money. Terms of the settlement stated that the Beverly Hills home they shared must be sold or leased. Camille currently stars on the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but announced earlier this year that she will not return for season four of the show.

Kelsey also has 8-month-old Faith with current spouse Kayte Walsh.
