Callie and Brandon are going to have to face the after-math of the fact that they both must move on when The Fosters returns.

It's never easy to see an old lover dating someone else, but in this situation, there might be no getting out of that. Callie and Brandon do live together after all, and they are adopted siblings.

So in a promo for the next episode, Callie tells Brandon that they're going to have to get used to seeing each other with other people. And maybe it'll be okay because both of them seem fairly happy with their new lovers. But not so much the other way around.

Brandon's new lady finds out that Callie is the girl that he loved and couldn't be with, and she doesn't seem too pleased to be around her. Callie also tells her new guy AJ that nothing is going on with Brandon, but he doesn't believe it.

Meanwhile, Jesus and Mariana will be celebrating their birthday, which appears to be a night filled with color and dance moves.

David Lambert, who plays Brandon, previously spoke to Just Jared Jr about the complicated connection between his character and Callie. Unfortunately, it's been difficult to tell if they should spend more or less time together.

"It is evolving into this very strong connection, but in a different way where they do check in on each other every now and then and want to see each other be happy," Lambert said. "However, they also can't fully be there for each other just because of everything that has happened up to this point. It's a bit of both."

The Fosters airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
