Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin, will appear in a Hallmark movie.

Bindi will appear in Return To Nim's Island which will air on Friday, March 15. The television star spoke highly about working with the animals for the film that was made in Australia's Gold Coast region.

"The animals were spectacular," Bindi told Sydney Morning Herald. "The sea lions were better trained that I was!" she added.

Bindi, who was only 7 when her father was tragically killed by a stingray barb, shared that she has been hard at work trying to save the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve. The government wants to strip the reservation that is home to almost 20% of Australia's rarest birds and many plants and insects, for bauxite mining.

'We've got over 400,000 petition signatures,'' Bindi said of her efforts.

The 14-year-old also spoke about her father who was 44 when he died. She called him "the living, breathing superhero of my life" in another interview.

Bindi said her life goal is to "carry on in [her] dad's footsteps, and make sure that his message lives on forever."

"He was the best dad ever, and for me, I want to make sure that his legacy never dies and I want to carry on in his footsteps," she told Brisbane Times. "After losing him, that doesn't go away ... it's kind of like a piece of your heart that goes further."

She spoke about his sudden death which was recorded for Crocodile Hunter and later leaked and watched by millions.

"What you saw on camera was what you got," she said of the footage.

Return To Nim's Island, the sequel to Nim's Island, will air on the Hallmark Channel on Friday, March 15 and air at 8/7c pm.
