Hades (Greg Germann) does not want Regina (Lana Parrilla) in the Underworld on ABC's Once Upon a Time.

How Will Regina Help Lost Souls In The Underworld On 'Once Upon a Time'?

It was revealed in last night's midseason premiere of Once Upon a Time that Hades desperately wants Regina to leave the Underworld. The reasoning behind this was not made clear.

Parrilla spoke to Variety after the episode about Hades being the most powerful villain on Once Upon a Time yet.

Did 'Once Upon a Time's Emma Do 'The Wrong Thing' Bringing Family To Save Hook?

"I think he has the most power of any villain we've ever come across; he's the god of death--it doesn't get more powerful than that," Parrilla observed. "He has zero remorse, he takes lives away--that's what his job is, so for him, it's just a snap of his finger, he could kill someone with a thought.

"And that's terrifying, you have to handle him delicately--you don't know what's going to push a button or irk him and you have to walk on eggshells when you're around him. He's also kind of creepy--his hair goes up in flames! Greg Germann does such a wonderful job playing him--he has such a sense of humor and irony; he brings some comedic aspects to the role which I think are very refreshing. It's such a dark drama--it's a family show, but it's a dark family drama--and it's nice to have these lighter, comedic elements in such a dark character like Hades. He does a fantastic job."

Parrilla also talked about last night's episode--the 100th episode of the show--being largely centric on Regina's story. The actress was "honored" and said that some resolution between her and her parents was "well-earned."

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
