Shake It Up! televison star Zendaya Coleman and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy danced a contemporary routine during Monday night's season 16 premiere of Dancing with the Stars.

They scored 24 out of 30.

The ABC dancing competition aired its new season at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Coleman is among the youngest celebrities to be competing in the show's new season, followed by Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman. Her partner, Chmerkovskiy, debuted on the show last season and for his first time he did pretty well: he and his partner, soap opera star Kelly Monaco, made it to the top three before the Mirror Ball trophy was given to reality television star Melissa Rycroft.

DWTS is hosted by Tom Bergeron from America's Funniest Home Videos and Brooke Burke-Charvet, the show's season seven champion. The contestants perform choreographed dance routines that will then be judged by renowned ballroom judge Len Goodman, and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. Each week one team will be eliminated.

The season's first elimination episode airs Tuesday, March 26. Monday's premiere was two hours long, from 8- 10 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Disney channel star tweeted on Monday a message to her fans while revealed that she was nervous to perform on the ABC show.

"It's getting real...nerves are creeping in," she posted to her over 1 million followers. "Show me ur signs!! I need my Zswaggers more than everrrr!!! #DWTS #TeamZendaya."
