The next episode of Season 17 of Law & Order: SVU is going to deal with sex scandals involving the church.

The preview for the episode reveals the team dealing with one of the most intense and controversial issues from recent history. The SVU will be dealing with the Church's gravest transgression, and the clip takes us through chaotic scenes of a pastor holsing a press conference, perhaps in defense of the Church against the accusationa of child abuse. The voiceover sells the episode as "a sex scandal of the highest order," adding that it would be the SVU "everybody will be talking about."

Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Detective Dominick Carisi Jr. (Peter Scanavino) are seen in the preview helping get to the bottom of the case. In fact in one bit Carisi is also seen praying in Church with Rosary beeds wrapped around his hands.

Here's the synopsis for the next episode, titled 'Unholiest Alliance':

"When one of their own is implicated in a cover-up, the SVU struggles to unravel a sex trafficking operation deeply-rooted in government offices, the police department, and the Catholic Church. Starring Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Kelli Giddish, Raúl Esparza and Peter Scanavino. Guest starring Andy Karl, Michael O'Keefe, Robert John Burke, Jonathan Cake and Peter Gallagher."

Meanwhile, in other news related to the show, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU will actually be inspired by The Bachelor.

According to the report, the episode will feature a fictional dating show, 'Heart's Desire,' which is derived from The Bachelor. If the viewership of The Bachelor is anything to go by, this episode might drawn in great TRP for Law & Order: SVU. The report also adds that the episode will turn a light on the behind-the-scenes drama of the series and the founders of 'Heart's Desire,' who are married. 

The next episode, 'Unholiest Alliance,' will air on March 23 on NBC.
