A big character will be returning in Season 17 of Law & Order: SVU and this one's really worth looking forward to.

Detective Munch (Richard Belzer) is set to make his bug return on the show.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Belzer, who left after Season 15, will be guest starring in an episode, entitled 'Fashionable Crimes,' set to air in May. According to the report, the detective will be brought back to help out with a case dealing with a young model who accuses a famous photographer of abuse. This episode seems like it has been picked from the headlines, i.e. the recent Terry Richardson controversy.

The show's executive producer Warren Leight also spoke about having Belzer back.

"We love having Richard back on set," Leigh said. "This episode was perfect for Munch's cynical eye, and just the right time for him to give Benson [Mariska Hargitay], and Noah, some much needed support."

The preview for the next episode of Law & Order: SVU was also recently unveiled. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Detective Dominick Carisi Jr. (Peter Scanavino) are seen in the preview helping get to the bottom of the case. In fact in one bit Carisi is also seen praying in Church with Rosary beeds wrapped around his hands.

Here's the synopsis for the next episode, titled 'Unholiest Alliance':

"When one of their own is implicated in a cover-up, the SVU struggles to unravel a sex trafficking operation deeply-rooted in government offices, the police department, and the Catholic Church. Starring Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Kelli Giddish, Raúl Esparza and Peter Scanavino. Guest starring Andy Karl, Michael O'Keefe, Robert John Burke, Jonathan Cake and Peter Gallagher."

The next episode, 'Unholiest Alliance,' will air on March 23 on NBC.
