Oscar says Jane is Taylor Shaw, but new Blindspot evidence has fans scratching their heads.

For a few shinning moments, it looked like Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) had unquestionably been reunited with her real identity. When test revealed that she was born in Sub-Saharan Africa, however, even Blindspot's most adept sleuths were suddenly stumped. Don't worry - the physical evidence of Jane Doe's origins does NOT mean Oscar (Francois Arnaud) is trying to pull the wool over her eyes.

"The tooth doesn't necessarily mean she's not Taylor Shaw; it means that she was born somewhere in Sub-Saharan Africa," showrunner Martin Gero informed TV Line. "So what that draws into question is: Do we know who Taylor Shaw was? Is the origin story of Taylor Shaw right, as far as Kurt remembers? But yeah, [the tooth] is a red flag for everybody. And it should be."

As for whether Oscar is a trustworthy source, fans should note that he appears to have no reason to lie.

"Oscar is trying to build a trust with Jane," Gero told Entertainment Weekly. "So I think he's trying to be open and honest with her where he can about everything. Heaven forbid he tell her a lie and then she find out something different, it would eradicate everything."

Needless to say, neither Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) nor Jane will stop probing the Taylor Shaw storyline anytime soon.

This Monday on Blindspot, Jane will ditch the FBI team in an effort to keep her frinds safe during "Older Cutthroat Canyon" (see a preview below)

"After a painting featuring one of Jane's tattoos is heisted from a gallery, the team discovers Jane is the real target," NBC teased. "In order to protect her team, Jane goes AWOL."
