It’s been roughly ten years since Kim Kardashian and Ray J’s now infamous tape made its way to the Internet. But it’s still a topic of conversation after new reports suggest Kris Jenner really was behind it—and Ray J has a few words to say about it.

Author Ian Halperin wrote in the upcoming book Kardashian Dynasty that Kim signed a deal with Vivid Entertainment back in 2007 to make the tape that she and Ray J made in 2003 public.

“A mutual friend of Kim and Paris [Hilton] had advised her that if she wanted to achieve fame, a sex tape would be the way to go…Kim had discussed the idea of producing a tape with her family beforehand.”

As for Jenner, she is said to be the one “who engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day.”

Ray J called in to The Tom Joyner Morning Show Tuesday and spoke on the speculation that Jenner was behind the release. He said that news of that getting out was a “breach of contract.”

Former video vixen Karrine Steffans also said Jenner was behind it all.

Meanwhile, Halperin went as far as pretending to be a part of the adult film industry himself and approached Vivid with questions on how a tape would have to be released through them.

While “both parties” normally have to agree to the tape being put out, they said Kim’s case was a little different.

“A third party brought it to Vivid… [We] got in touch with the Kardashian family.”

They added that Kim has “made millions” since her tape surfaced in 2007. Kim allegedly threatened to sue them, but apparently that didn’t work either.

“It is clear that Vivid would not have announced plans to distribute Kim’s tape without a clear indication from the family that they would give the go-ahead once they came to terms on a price.”

Kim's rep has said that none of this is true.
