The Season 17 finale of Law & Order: SVU is definitely not one to miss if Mariska Hargitay is to be trusted.

The actress, who plays Olivia Benson in the NBC series dished about the final act and revealed that it left the deepest impression on her.

Benson spoke to E!Online about the finale. "I read the season finale and I was so deeply moved and deeply inspired. I couldn't put it down...couldn't stop crying," she said.

She went on to talk about how the finale will deal with the complexities of life.

"After doing a show for this long, there are these moments that come up that are so earned and so painful," she said. "For Olivia, something very tragic happens and something so beautiful happens, which is so much like life, right? It's that marriage of joy and pain and all of it, living in the question and gray. Gray, gray, gray, which SVU is so amazing at. I'm hooked and excited. It's something that informs all of next year and so I feel like I have all of these new beats to play and I am so reinvested that it's almost shocking."

The report also reveals that the two-part finale will see the return Bill Irwin will also be back as Dr. Peter Lindstrom.

It was recently revealed that Everybody Loves Raymond's alumna Brad Garrett will be guest starring in the finale. According to a Deadline report, the actor will be playing Gary Munson, "a corrections officer at Rikers who maintains his reputation as a hardworking family man, but hides a long history of corruption and violence against female inmates, both inside and out of prison."

The date for the two-part finale hasn't been revealed yet. The series is set to return with the rest of the episodes of this season on May 4 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
