Taylor Swift will guest star in the May 14 season finale of the Fox comedy New Girl, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The 22 singer will play Elaine, who is an "important guest" at the wedding of Cece (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang (Satya Bhabha).

Swift is a New Girl fan and even wrote in November of 2011 on Twitter "Just watched like, every episode of New Girl. Love." The 23-year-old singer has also been referenced previously in the show: Schmidt (Max Greenfield) sent a text message saying he was going through a "Taylor Swift-like range of emotions" while heartbroken Jess (Zooey Deschanel) said in another episode, "I just wanted to listen to Taylor Swift alone," as 22 played in the background.

Swift will shoot her part in the episode in April. The We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together singer is not new to acting, as she had a role in the romantic comedy Valentine's Day and guest starred on CSI in 2009. She also provided voice for the 2012 animated film The Lorax.

Swift is currently on her Red tour and performed at the Prudential Center on Wednesday with her headliner Ed Sheeran. The two performed their duet Everything Has Changed.

Red is her fourth studio album and it sold 1.2 million copies in its first week of release back in October 2012, according to The New York Times. The album has already been certified platinum four times.

Early on in her Wednesday concert she said to the audience, "I'm Taylor. I write songs about my feelings." She has been known for making breakup songs inspired by her ex-boyfriends (Jake Gyllenhaal, Conor Kennedy and John Mayer, to name a few) and admitted in March that I Knew You Were Trouble was written with her most recent ex, Harry Styles, in mind.
