Fans of Secrets and Lies were devastated when they learned that the show's highly anticipated upcoming second season was yet again left off of ABC's programming schedule, and now they desperately want to know why.

ABC released its programming schedule for the upcoming summer season earlier this week, and in a shocking move, the network once again shoved the show off the schedule, and left it with no noticeable premiere date in sight. What no one can seem to figure out however, is why the network continues to bounce the series, which was initially supposed to return during the midseason, in the slot that was vacated by Nashville's Winter Break.

According to Cinema Blend, the news that the show wasn't airing this summer could either be good or bad news for fans. The bad news is that keeping the show off the schedule for so many months could cause the show to lose some viewers, outside of the intense fans, because they will eventually fill the holes in their viewing schedules with other shows instead.

However, the website notes that the network was still excited about the show back in January, where it presented at the TCA winter tour-meaning the show Isn't likely going to get buried. Plus, being pushed off the summer schedule could also mean it will be given a much more choice slot-with an airing in the fall. That would be revealed when ABC announces their fall programming plans in May.

The series being bounced from planned original timeslots isn't anything new, as it's original first season was supposed to air on Thursday nights last year following the season one conclusion of How To Get Away With Murder. It was later moved to Sunday nights, and the slot initially given to it when to season one of American Crime.

Regardless of the show's future however, fans will need to keep waiting, and unfortunately they're back to knowing not much more than before-and neither does the show's creator, Barbie Kligman, who regretted having to inform a fan on Twitter that she didn't even know when a promo trailer was even going to be dropped.
