Corey Simms was noticeably absent over the weekend in Los Angeles, where his Teen Mom 2 co-stars were filming the reunion.

Following reports claiming Simms and his wife, Miranda, refused to film full-time during season seven, he opted out of the reunion, as did Leah Messer's other ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert.

“There was really no reason for Leah’s guys to go this time,” a source told The Ashley's Reality Roundup on Sunday. “Last time, Jeremy’s segments didn’t even air. It’s a huge effort to fly across country for them, since they are in West Virginia, arrange for child care, take off work, etc, just for a weekend of shooting. They don’t care about the free trip or anything at this point. They’d rather stay home.”

Over the weekend, as the Teen Mom 2 reunion was filmed, Simms spent time coaching his daughter's T-ball game, where he debuted his new, beard-free look.

As for Simms' future with the show, it doesn't look to promising, as he and his wife have already cut back substantially.

“Corey feels MTV did him dirty,” a friend of Simms told Radar Online in March, revealing Simms felt Messer got off easy after displaying tons of questionable behavior during season six.

“He thinks they had the perfect opportunity to show viewers, ‘This is what happens when you get on drugs, this is the reality.’ Instead, they made it seem like Corey was constantly attacking Leah for no reason,” the source explained.

So, rather than continue on, said the source, “Corey told MTV just what he thought about the situation, and said that he and Miranda would not film nearly as much as in past seasons. Producers understood.”
