Kordell Stewart filed for divorce from The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Porsha Stewart on March 22. In his petition, the former NFl star wrote that he should not provide alimony support to Porsha because she's an "able-bodied person earning income and is capable of supporting herself."

Porsha, who did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement, has filed a counterclaim of her own. Her divorce documents were obtained by RumorFix who gave details of her petition. In her claim, she corrected Kordell who addressed her as Porsha Williams in his divorce file- she made it clear that her name is Porsha Stewart, according to her documents.

Porsha agreed with Kordell's claim that their marriage is "irretrievably broken" but disagreed that she is capable of supporting herself. The reality star countered in her claim that her "earning capacity was set back significantly" when she stopped working for two years to care for Kordell's son, Syre.

Porsha also made a list of demands:

  • All property to be divided equally unless another agreement can be made
  • Kordell to pay all marital debt
  • Porsha wants exclusive use and possession of their home on a permanent basis
  • Kordell to pay alimony
  • Kordell to pay all attorney fees
  • All insurance policies to stay in full force

Porsha wrote on her Bravo blog earlier in the season that she did not sign a pre-nup saying, "there is no place for a piece of paper to stand between us."

"We have the same beliefs when it comes to God and how we have our purpose shown to us by God," she wrote. "So through bonding with him in mind, body, and spirit there is no place for a piece of paper to stand between us."

Kordell filed a petition for divorce from Porsha on March 22 in Fulton County, Ga. A source close to Porsha said she was "completely blindsided" by the divorce.

The couple had been married less than two years - they wed on May 21, 2011. Porsha, 31, tweeted a note of thanks on Tuesday for the outpour of support she has received
