There's a bit of a tense chemistry happening between Mary and Robert on Reign.

In a sneak peek released from Zap 2 It on Monday, Mary and Robert are working on their archery skills where both of them are pretty talented. The queen says her late husband is the one who taught her how to do it since it might come in handy someday.

With Robert as one of Mary's potential new husband, he seems to have slight enthusiasm that they could work this out-- after all, both of them know what it's like to have a spouse die so there's already a connection there. And Robert says that Elizabeth wanted him to have a fresh start.

Then the conversation turns political when Robert brings up Mary as the new female monarch and what this might entail. Clearly, it's been a tough battle and the people are turning against her, according to Mr. Dudley. But Mary lets this go and doesn't want to get too deep into this moment.

This gives insight on how this relationship might continue and if a marriage will happen or not.

Check it out in the sneak peek below.

It came as a shock when Mary's husband died earlier this season since he was such a central character. But this didn't stop any major arcs from taking place and the enticement is bound to continue, according to actress Megan Follows (Catherine).

"Toby [Regbo who played Francis] was an amazing player, and we were all really sad although it was time for the story- he knew that," Follows told TV Line. "What's fantastic about our show is that we've really embraced change and grown; there are so many stories to tell."

Reign airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
