Z Nations' apocalypse is now.

The Syfy series began season 3 production last week, and the cast immediately treated fans to a few behind-the-scenes sneak peeks. Picking up in the wake of Murphy's (Keith Allan) little CDC freak out, the fall run will bring a few new baddies into the fold as Operation Bitemark is scattered to the winds.

"I know that for part of the next season we will be sort of splitting up and going in different directions," Allan explained at LexCon. "Then we come together about midseason for a common cause, a common goal. Even though we are sort of on the outs with each other we have a common goal that we come together and join forces again for."

While 10K's (Nat Zang) fate is unknown and Citizen Z (DJ Qualls) is on the move, Joseph Gatt will join the cast as "The Man." Little is known about his character, and it remains to be seen whose cause he'll join. Will he team up with Murphy, who now thinks the path to salvation is to create a world of blends? Will he join Warren's (Kellita Smith) crew in their fight to survive? Or will he be a new bounty hunter looking to take out The Murphy, or, when that fails, his little zombaby?
