Welcome back to Wayward Pines!

M. Night Shyamalan's futuristic nightmare will return tonight at 9 p.m. ET on Fox, and, this time around, the First Generation is calling the shots. Don't worry, there's still plenty of room for things to go terribly wrong.

"It opens with Jason Patric's character Theo Yedlin. He and his wife have a kind of tenuous marriage and their trying to make it work. That's where we find them when all of this happens," Shyamalan teased.

Before the good doctor knows what hit him, he's thrust hundreds of years into the future.

"The next thing he knows, he's thrust into a civil war in a town where martial law is at work in the streets and he very much is trying to fid his way through this brave new world," the EP explained.

There is one upside to Wayward Pines 2.0. Now that the truth is out, the residents can turn their attention towards more pressing matters. With a little help from Megan Fisher (Hope Davis), it's time to thrust the Abbies into the spotlight. Who exactly are these creatures? Does humanity deserve to exist indefinitely?

"Dr. Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) - a new resident of Wayward Pines - awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race, Fox teased. "CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou), an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, is the only one who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited."

As the First Generation continues to rule with an iron fist, a few familiar faces will continue to cause trouble. Meanwhile, new characters like Xander Beck (Josh Helman) will work to break down Wayward Pines from the inside.

Catch the Wayward Pines premiere at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. Fox does not offer a live streaming service, but those without a TV can catch "Enemy Lines" on Fox Now within the next 24 hours.
