Stephen Amell has some interesting ideas on what he'd like to see happen on Arrow next season.

On Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly posted some details from the actor who mentioned that despite having some craziness happen lately, he would like to show to get back to its original roots.

"When we started Arrow, we were the superpower-less superhero show," Amell said. "Because of our success and because of opportunities that The CW has had, we've had to break away from that original modus operandi a little bit because we were introducing Barry Allen, and in subsequent seasons, we've shepherded some of the Legends of Tomorrow onto their own show."

Amell also pointed out how a certain blonde super female is coming to The CW, but hopefully the show he stars on can still remember what made it special in the first place.

"Even though Supergirl is joining the ranks, there's no new person or new show to introduce this year, and I think as a result of that, we need to get back to focusing on some of the core elements that used to define Arrow," the actor said. "To me, that's hand-to-hand combat, no superpowers, and dealing with the job of cleaning up Star City."

Meanwhile, Amell previously dished to TV Line on the Season 3 finale (where the world was saved) and how that ties in for what's coming next.

"We have a scene that is really unlike anything we've ever done on the show, certainly with me as Oliver and not just speaking to the team, but speaking to Star City," Amell said. "We do that a little bit in the premiere where I announce myself as the Green Arrow and there is a bit of a callback to that in the finale and then the next step of that evolution."

Arrow Season 5 is expected to premiere this fall on The CW.
