Nashville is coming to CMT, but when might that happen?

On Wednesday, Adweek shared an interview with CMT president Brian Philips who pointed out that the show, which was canceled from ABC, will be premiering 22 new episodes on the country musical channel. There's no official word on when that might take place, but fans will probably have to wait at least a few more months.

"It's still a work in progress," Philips said. "The writers' room is up, the showrunners are in place, and my sense is that they can more or less deliver at will. It could be fall; it could be a little bit later. We don't know. We're in the earliest of talks right now. We feel like the Nashville machine is gearing up, and we'll develop a plan for the rollout of these 22 new episodes that makes the most sense for everybody."

As far as storyline, nothing has been announced, but it's safe to say that the writers are working hard to create something amazing for the network and for the fans.

"You're not going to be seeing egregious storylines set inside the executive suites of CMT I don't think," Philips said. "The writers are dedicated to making the stories pop, and it's whatever they come up with. For what it's worth, half of our executives were already on the ABC version of the show, much to my surprise sometimes when I was watching it!"

The showrunner also mentioned that he's not sure if Connie Britton will be part of the fifth season to return for her role as Rayna, but in previous remarks, she seemed "very positive."

As for the possibility of Hayden Panttiere returning as Juliette, that still remains a mystery
