For once, it looks like Hawaii Five-0's Chin may actually have a little taste of happiness.

From his wife's death to IA investigations to Gabriel's (Christopher Sean) reign of terror, Chin's (Daniel Dae Kim) had a rough couple of years. With his brother-in-law in the ground and Abby (Julie Benz) on the verge of moving in, however, the winds of change are clearly blowing in Chin's favor.

"We start the season, [and he's] living with [Abby]," showrunner Peter Lenkov previewed, according to Entertainment Weekly. "It's going in that direction for sure. I want these people to be happy, because they've become my family, too."

Benz's commitment to CBS' upcoming Training Day series had some fans worried about her future with Five-0, but Lenkov worked to allay those fears on Thursday.

"We're absolutely hoping to continue that next season," he promised TV Line.

Being in a stable relationship could make all the difference as Chin ponders adopting his nemesis' orphaned daughter. Little Sara (Londyn Silzer) popped into the picture during "Pilina Koko," and it was Gabriel's dying wish that the cop raise his little girl. Chin originally opted to turn her over to child services for adoption, but you could see his resolve quickly eroding as season 7 came to a close.

"Yeah, that will be a big arc next year for sure - what he does, and does he end up fighting for adoption?" Lenkov teased.

Chin and Sara might not be blood, but McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) had proved over and over again that ohana can be forged regardless.
