One of Christina Grimmie's fellow The Voice contestants has recorded a new song dedicated to the late singer.

In the wake of a gunman shooting and killing Grimmie at an Orlando concert, many from her Voice family are still devastated. One of those Voice family members is Kat Perkins, who competed on season 6 of the singing competition with Grimmie. Perkins, who was also roommates with Grimmie, just recorded a song called "Angels" in honor of the 22-year-old singer.

"Not sure what to do, I decided to honor her the only way I know how," Perkins explained to Rolling Stone. "With a song."

The emotional yet uplifting ballad features a powerful chorus in which Perkins sings "there must be angels watching over you," and, "the trumpets will play as you're flying away."

Perkins also acknowledged the 49 nightclub attendees who were shot and killed that same weekend, stating that this song is a tribute is for them as well.

"Christina was a beautiful person inside and out," Perkins said in a statement. "I will miss her bubbly personality, quirkiness and talent. I wanted to honor her the only way I know how, with a song. Fly on, sister. This is a tribute to her and those lost that same weekend in the Orlando Shooting. May we find a way to move forward in life making peace while letting go of evil. #ChooseLove".

Proceeds for "Angels" will go to Grimmie's GoFundMe account, which currently has over $190,000 from a goal of $4,000. Over 7,000 have already donated over the course of 10 days.

Perkins and Grimmie were both on Team Adam Levine during season 6, with the former being eliminated right before the finals and the latter coming in third place.

Levine offered to pay for Grimmie's funeral a few days after hearing about the devastating news.
