The plot of Dragon Ball Super is set to go in motion this week again, as the anime resumes its run after a brief, one-week break. While the next episode of Dragon Ball Super will undoubtedly explore the origins of Black Goku through Whis, Beerus and Goku meeting with Zamasu, Episode 54 seems to be one that might be a turning point in the series.

The 54th episode, titled Inheritor of Saiyan Blood: Trunks' Resolve, appears to be a very important chapter in the Future Trunks arc. This is because, in this episode, Future Trunks might very well unlock his true potential and transform into his Super Saiyan Blue form for the first time.

The brief summary of the episode seems to foreshadow this, with the teaser reading "Though they know that Zamasu and Black have extraordinarily similar Ki, they are unable to obtain any proof that the two are the same person. Meanwhile, Vegeta tells the Trunks from the future 'I'm going to give you some training.'"

With Vegeta personally training Future Trunks, there is very little doubt that the Z fighter from the ravaged future would get stronger. After all, Vegeta has already mastered his Super Saiyan Blue form, and he is very determined to stop the rampage of Black Goku. Thus, it only makes sense for the Saiyan Prince to train his son to become a lot stronger.

The development of Future Trunks is something that fans have been looking forward to for the longest time. Since the announcement of his return a couple months ago, Dragon Ball Super fans have begun speculating that Future Trunks would eventually achieve Super Saiyan Blue.

Considering everything that Future Trunks has already gone through under the hands of Black Goku, allowing the young fighter to achieve Super Saiyan Blue is practically just a small dose of justice. If any, a Super Saiyan Blue Future Trunks would definitely make DBS a lot more compelling than it already is.
