Blindspot's Kurt Weller has a knife in his back, and a wound like that doesn't scab over easy. The sting of Jane Doe's betrayal will remain white-hot long after season 2 begins.

Sullivan Stapleton's FBI agent placed his tattooed pal under arrest as season 1 came to an end, and the fall run will pick up three months after their falling out. Although Jane (Jaimie Alexander) wasn't always aware of the fact that she was lying to the FBI team, the discovery of Taylor Shaw's body exposed an unforgivable manipulation.

"There's a lot of bad water under that bridge," Stapleton told Entertainment Weekly. "That's a huge betrayal. He unfortunately thought he might've found the child that went missing for 25 years, so to have that closeness betrayed, that's hard."

It's no small peccadillo for Weller. Although the finale left him with a lot to unpack - including the fact that Jane is a victim in her own right - forgiveness will not come easy.

"She lied," Stapleton told Starry Magazine at San Diego Comic-Con. "I'm very old school."

Unfortunately for Jane, Weller won't be the only person from whom she needs to seek forgiveness. From Patterson (Ashley Johnson) to Zapata (Audrey Esparza), the Times Square enigma will have to some serious bridge mending.

"It's three months later and everyone has had a rough go. Jane has been in a CIA black site and they've been questioning her for three months. The team is dealing with the fact that Jane was an imposture," showrunner Martin Gero teased.
