Hunter Hayes released a video from his upcoming album, Encore. The video for "I Want Crazy" proved to be a crazy shot for the young star.

According to MTV, the video follows the ups and downs of love, particularly when one party, notably Hayes, has to spend so much time away from home.

Powered by 21-yrear-old angst, the video proved to be a difficult feat to film.

Footage for "I Want Crazy" was shot in St. John, New Brunswick and while the song is meant to be uplifting and cherry, the weather proved to be anything but.

"The biggest issue with shooting the video was we kind of shot it on a day when it was 40 [degrees] and raining," Hayes said according to MTV.

Recently the star answered a fan's question on Twitter. When asked "do u ever feel lonely," the musician responded, "I think we all do that at some point...But THAT'S where Music comes in..."

The message of the Tweet fits in perfectly with the singer's latest single.

"The video is about a long-distance relationship and the toughness of having a long-distance relationship, 'cause that's what kind of the song is about," Hayes states in his YouTube video series 'For the Love of Music.' "It's about the crazy things you do for someone when you're crazy about them."

Hayes' new album drops on June 18.
