Sorry, Olicity 'shippers. Arrow's Oliver and Felicity won't bounce back into each other's arms anytime soon.

The beloved couple severed their romantic ties during season 4, and any plans the pair had for getting back together were sent into disarray by the events of the spring finale. As fans eagerly await the Oct. 5 premiere, executive producer Wendy Mericle is here to remind us that, even in the world of superheroes, you can't just slap a magic Band-Aid on a 'ship and say all's well.

"They're both in crisis mode. Oliver's got two really big jobs, and [Felicity] is spinning out about Havenrock," Mericle told TV Line. "Until they've gotten some clarity for themselves, there's not much room for the relationship side of things."

That's not to say Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) will opt out of the dating game altogether. She's a brilliant, talented, beautiful woman, and the men of Star City won't wait around for Mr. Queen (Stephen Amell) to mend fences. Rumor has it Ms. Smoak will have a new BF in season 5.

"It is a true rumor," Rickards told TV Line back in July. "She steps on it pretty hot off the bat. You'll meet him quite quickly."

Our initial instinct is to wrap a fluffy blanket around Oliver and ply him with hot chocolate until the new couple breaks up, but the Green Arrow will apparently take the arrival of Felicity's new beau in stride.

"I think he'll be fine. He will hug a pillow, much like I'm hugging a pillow right now, but he'll do it in private," Amell told TV Line.

Alternately, the actor was all for sending an arrow through Mr. Wrong's head. It was a joke, of course, but, if we were dealing with season 1 Oliver, a sudden death or maiming wouldn't be a surprise.
